Whales and Kite Surfers - incredible Cape Town photos!
by Ali - for Kalyn
(Cape Town)
Spot the whale - two kites from the bottom
Rule 1: don't let a whale get between you and your kite
Rule 2: let sleeping whales lie
Rule 3: be open to a change in direction
This series of photos was shot last weekend by a friend.
She and her husband were watching kite surfers off Misty Cliffs (near Scarborough, on the way to Cape Point) - there is an amazing sandy beach there and when the conditions are right it is perfect for adventurous kiters.
As they watched they noticed the kite surfers had company.
Whales. Plural.
H U G E company!
And actually, the surfers were so immersed in their sport - totally occupied with adrenalain rush #1 - they didn't even realise the whales were there till they nearly surfed right over them.
Double shot of adrenalin that day :o
Eish - close encounters of the cetacean kind!
Thanks Kalyn for letting me share these!
