How to get there

The US consulate is based out in the southern suburbs of Cape Town, NOT in the City Centre.

It is not easy to reach using public transport.

If you do not have access to your own car I recommend taking a taxi, especially in an emergency.

  • From the City centre, take the N2 and then the M3 south to Muizenberg
  • At the T-junction at foot of the mountain, turn right into Steenberg Road
  • Continue on Steenberg Road, passing through 2 traffic lights, until you reach a roundabout.
  • Turn right at the roundabout to find yourself in Reddam Avenue.
  • Reddam Avenue forks at a yet another roundabout... the Consulate Building is the massive complex on your right hand side as you travel along.
