The Violence Against Foreigners is Inexcusable

I am dismayed to see the 'xenophobic' attacks spreading through Cape Town's townships this week. It's hard to believe that human beings can do this to one another.

People are losing friends and family members to mindless thuggery. And behind it, in many cases, there seems to be a common criminal mentality. Looters are making the most of every opportunity.

We need our city authorities to act decisively and immediately. Don't hesitate! Clamp down hard on the mob inciters and thieving opportunists.

Our foreign residents make a valuable contribution to South Africa.
They are hard working, honest and determined.
They deserve to live here in peace.
