Mouille Point or green point? Quirky things to do? Great food?

Hello Alison!

I have so many things floating around my head & I'm overwhelmed. LOL!

Basically, I need to come out with an itinerary for my 3 full days. I was supposed to be staying with friends so I was going to leave the planning to them & I hadn't put much thought into what I wanted to do.

I will be in CT the week of Christmas 2009 (Dec 20- 24) and I know I need to stick to a strict schedule as it is the peak season & I don't have enough time to see everything.

First of all, I will be staying in either Mouille Point or Green Point.
Would you suggest one location over the other?
I have a hold on two places & I have to book within the next few days.

I'm big on doing things that are a bit quirky or different.

I'm an avid runner so I can manage activities that are physically intensive. I am open to anything but I am really concerned about

getting my bearings,

having some sort of transportation and

not wasting time.

Let me know what you think and how I should approach this...

    - maybe a 1 day motorbike tour
    - renting a scooter/motorbike to get around b/c I made some restaurant reservations outside the city & I'd like to see the Winelands and outskirts
    - metrorail to smith's town? (Ali's note - I think you mean Simons Town?)
    - hop on hop off bus to familiarize myself w/CT

PS- I am Female in my late 20s.

I've become a big foodie so throw in your fave restaurants if you have any.

I have been doing a lot of internet research but it's just so much. I've read many threads on Lonely Planet's SA forum & I noticed some of your posts.
