Map of Cape Town |
|||
The Southern Peninsula is probably my favourite part of Cape Town.
I love it beyond anything!
Many will argue differently, but for me other areas --
the Winelands,
the Waterfront,
the West Coast -- don't hold a candle to the South Peninsula!
"What's the huge appeal?" you may ask. It's the quaint seaside village feeling...
You'll love St James with its precipitous paths instead of streets.
And Kalk Bay with colourful fishing boats bobbing in the harbour and the quaint Main Road shops like Cape To Cairo and Olympia Café.
You'll love the soaring heights of the mountains rising to Silvermine behind Boyes Drive and the Naval atmosphere of Simonstown.
Crossing over to the Atlantic side, Long Beach stretches for miles between Noordhoek and Kommetjie, with the wreck of the Kakapo in the middle. Misty Cliffs is always blurry round the edges and the wildness of Cape Point... (plus its baboons and other animals!) is a treat.
And luckily there are loads of places to stay while you also enjoy this special part of Cape Town.
