Hermanus Self Catering AccommodationGreat family choice! In my student years we were lucky enough to have friends with parents who owned Hermanus self catering accommodation. What a coup -- a fantastic weekend getaway destination at our fingertips for the price of the petrol it took to get there! Now that I know what it costs to own a holiday house I am even more grateful to those parents long ago :-) All change! But Hermanus self catering holidays live on!The property market in the Overberg has since screeched into high gear and the town has turned into something of a bustling regional outpost. No longer sleepy, booming with increasingly luxurious offerings, it is still a great place to go and relax, especially if you can find quality Hermanus self catering venues. We love self catering because it is 100% family friendly. It’s the ultimate in child friendly flexibility and gives us freedom to cook and eat what and when we please, or go out and spoil ourselves at a restaurant if we feel like soemthing more exciting. Family Friendly Rates for Hermanus Self Catering AccommodationBest of all, they often have a rate that is for the entire dwelling rather than the irritating trend of charging per person. Hermanus Holiday Wish ListIf I had bottomless pockets for weekend getaway destinations, here is my pick-list of Hermanus self catering accommodation offerings. These are the ones I would visit first!
Here’s a modern, secure apartment in the centre of the village. It can sleep 5 and the reasonable price is for the entire establishment rather than a per person charge. It is luxuriously equipped and central enough to walk to the cliff paths, the market, restaurants and shops. Beaches are a short drive away.
This lovely thatched house in Sandbaai is an absolute winner in my book, fully and stylishly equipped, with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The house is a short walk from the ocean and a few minutes drive from the Hemel and Aarde valley with its wine estates and restaurants. Sandbaai is quieter than Hermanus town centre which is less than a 10 minute drive away.
This holiday house in Eastcliff is a short walk to the cliffs and the centre of town. It is child friendly and well equipped with a lovely garden and pool which makes it a winner in summer time. This location is neatly between the Old Harbour (good for land-based whale spotting) and the New Harbour (where you embark for boat-based sightings) and is convenient for the village market and restaurants.
Aah! A Voelklip self catering house perfect for a beach holiday with small children. Just what the doctor ordered for this frazzled mom – when do we leave?! This house is slightly beyond walking distance to the village but is perfectly positioned for nature lovers wanting to walk in Fernkloof reserve. Beaches and clifftops are 10 minute walk.
