If you do end up driving into town, preserve what remains of your sanity by making use of my parking tip... it's worth the small fee they will charge you. Here's how to find the parking garage I always use... The Safmarine building is along Riebeeck Street, one block above the Thibault Square pedestrian and is hard to miss - 10+ stories high, clad in dark-pink granite, with a bunch of palm trees planted out front :-). (Just make sure you walk UPHILL on Riebeeck, with the Cape Town station BEHIND you.)
