Garden Route Map

Here's a Garden Route map to help you get orientated as you plan your holiday.

For us, the Garden Route starts around Mossel Bay. This is where the N2 meets the coast again after a few hundred kilometres of travelling inland. It is about 360km from Cape Town, an easy 3-and-a-half hour drive.

We used to describe it as 'pretty' until a UK friend said,
"Pretty? No way! Call it majestic, rugged or awe-inspiring, but not just pretty!"
So there you have it!

The coastal scenery is arresting and you begin to get increasingly frequent glimpses of the afro-montane forests that brought the woodcutters to Knysna.

Anyway, about that map...
