Frost in Sutherland
In June 2009 we went for a stargazing weekend in Sutherland - the home of SALT - the huge telescope.
The night skies were absolutely amazing.
But as you know June = winter in SA and Sutherland is the coldest town in the whole country!
The next morning the ground was covered in frost... this was one of the ice-covered plants.

I can feel the biting cold on my skin just looking at that!
We spent a few days in Jo'burg last winter on our way home from Kruger. It always takes me by surprise how different the climate is from the Cape.
Cape Town is wet and wild, while the north is that dry, sharp cold with loads of static electricity!
Great photo, thanks for sharing ;)
