An INDEPENDENT Cape Town restaurant guide...Each Cape Town restaurant guide I've consulted offers a wealth of information and a squillion options to help you make a selection. But to my mind they lack that extra something - the personal, "I've eaten there and loved it" feel. And those Cape Town restaurant guides make a living from advertising eateries that pay for a listing. The bottom line? Great restaurants that aren't looking for new business don't bother to get listed. Now if there's a restaurant that doesn't need to advertise, I'm interested! Because they stay busy with regular patrons and word-of-mouth recommendations - the most reliable tips in the world.
How to get into my Independent Restaurant Guide to Cape Town
We're not restaurant critics, just a Cape Town family sharing their favourite places. Some of them are casual affairs. Others are smarter. What matters to us is whether we felt welcome and would return. Oh and yes, did the food measure up to our hopes ;o) I love to recommend the places that are a little out of the way, which you might not find without inside information. The sort of places that (for me) say 'unique', 'Cape Town' and 'special'.

I'll be reviewing them personally as and when I have the time (and budget!) for a spot of fine dining! Till then, I'm relying on the experience of some of the best names in the SA restaurant business :o)
