October events - what's on in and around Cape Town in Spring?

After a damp and cool September (to make up for the warm and dry July and August no doubt :) ) the weather must surely become more and more summery from here onwards.

Fortunately our Cape events calendar marches forward without regard for the weather and the early summer line-up has arrived. We're totally spoilt for choice again!

Breedekloof Outdoor Festival - Rawsonville - 7 - 10 October 2010

Have I mentioned that Rawsonville feels like home? It's a wonderful down-to-earth place with friendly residents, fantastic wine cellars and scenery: this is the best festival of the year in my (humble) opinion!

Each winery has its own events and musical offerings to delight you and your children, and don't forget the Adventure Trail Run on the Saturday (enter by 30 September).

My personal favourites look to be the Farmers Market at Jason's Hill cellar near Slanghoek and Opstal Winery's Sushi and Blush offering. Check out their website to find yours!

Cost: various, great value
