Our first African Safari pictures with the kidsTake a look at Addo through our eyes!

We were pretty pleased with our first attempt at African safari pictures! We used a basic, hand-held digital Canon compact with zoom and this is the result -- African animals up close and personal for our scrapbook. We couldn't be more delighted with our lion kill! ![]() These shots were the result of our visit to the Addo Elephant National Park near Port Elizabeth. Despite being African born and bred, it was our children's first introduction to the bush and they really enjoyed it. A word to the wise - endless game driving doesn't delight children, so if you're a family with kids under 10, don't be too ambitious with the length of your first safari experience...
These two elephants wandered past our vehicle in no rush...
I love kudu – there’s something special about that delicate face stripe
’Our’ lion and his kill, nervously eyed by relieved red hartebeest
A well-fed zebra soaking up the early morning sun
Warthog - praying to avoid being a lion's breakfast?
This pale chanting goshawk was undisturbed by our close scrutiny
Our smallest sighting – also warming up after a frosty night!
