I would like to know which part of Cape Town is the area around Long Street called? Because I see things such as "Southern Suburbs" etc but...I don't know how to decipher what to call that area as I plan on mainly walking for my stay in Cape Town so I want to find a place near Long Street so I need to know which part of Cape Town it is categorised under

Hi Nqobile,

The area around Long Street is right in the Cape Town city centre.

It is generally referred to as the City Bowl, or Cape Town CBD, or Cape Town City Centre.

Suburbs/areas close to that central area also include Bokaap, De Waterkant, Gardens, Tamboerskloof and Higgovale.
